Lone Star Taco Bar

With some down time in Boston before our last engagement we were in search for some serious Mexican eats. Our first stop was at an annoyingly crowed taqueria with no bathrooms and no mexican beer to be had. That was defiantly a deal breaker. We settle on a newly opened taqueria called the Lone Star Taco bar in Brighton MA just outside Boston city. It was small but very cool. Our bar tender was very quiet and disengaged but knew tequila and their menu to a T. He walked us through their great mezcals and anejos like a pro. There were three small tacos on the menu all with fresh in house made tortillas. We had a barbecoa, carnitas, fish, and grilled cheese tacos. All terrific. We enjoyed some grilled sweet corn with cotija, mayo, chili, and lime. The most expensive dish on the menu was $9 which was pretty cool as well. The decor was pretty minimal with some John Wayne movies playing and a little Johnny Cash tunes as well. Check them out if in Boston
